Ingredients:
For the burgers:
1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
4 hamburger buns
4 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
1 small onion, sliced
1 tomato, sliced
1/2 cup lettuce, shredded
1/4 cup pickles, sliced
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the bacon:
8 slices crispy bacon
For the special sauce:
2 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
Instructions:
Preheat the grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat.
Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then form into 4 patties.
Grill or pan-fry the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Add a slice of cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Toast the hamburger buns lightly.
For the special sauce, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard. Spread on the bottom half of each bun.
Build your burger stack: Start with a cheeseburger patty, followed by a slice of tomato, onion, pickles, and lettuce. Add another burger patty and repeat the layering.
Top with crispy bacon slices and the other half of the bun.
Serve with a side of fries or a salad!
Notes:
Add avocado slices or a fried egg for even more layers of flavor.
Use whole wheat or gluten-free buns for a healthier option.
