Honey Glaze Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken and Buttermilk Mac & Cheese:

Honey Glaze Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken:

Ingredients: 2 lbs chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, wings) 2 cups buttermilk 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon onion powder 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust according to spice preference) Vegetable oil for frying Honey Glaze Sauce: 1/2 cup honey 1/4 cup hot sauce 2 tablespoons soy sauce 2 tablespoons butter Instructions: Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, soak the chicken pieces in buttermilk and let them marinate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for better flavor.

Prepare the Coating: In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Coat the Chicken: Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large, deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Dredge each piece of marinated chicken in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Fry the Chicken: Fry the chicken pieces in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes depending on the size of the pieces. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Make the Honey Glaze Sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter and then add honey, hot sauce, and soy sauce.

Cook over low heat, stirring, until well combined. Glaze the Fried Chicken: Once the chicken is fried, brush or drizzle the honey glaze sauce over the hot chicken. Toss to coat evenly. Buttermilk Mac & Cheese: Ingredients: 8 oz elbow macaroni 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 2 cups buttermilk 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Salt and pepper to taste Instructions: Cook the Macaroni: Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. Make the Cheese Sauce: In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour until the mixture becomes paste-like and light golden brown.

Add Buttermilk: Gradually whisk in the buttermilk so that no lumps form. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens.

Add Cheese: Reduce heat to low and gradually stir in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Combine with Macaroni: Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, stirring until well coated. Serve: Serve the Buttermilk Mac & Cheese alongside the Honey Glaze Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken. Enjoy your delicious and comforting meal!
