Seasoned Fried Shrimp and French Fries










Ingredients for the Shrimp:


-1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

-1 cup all-purpose flour

-2 teaspoons paprika

-1 teaspoon garlic powder

-1 teaspoon onion powder

-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for a spicy kick)

-Salt and black pepper to taste

-Vegetable oil for frying


Ingredients for the Fries:


-2 large potatoes, cut into fries

-Vegetable oil for frying

-Seasoning salt or a mix of salt and dried herbs for seasoning




Prepare the Fries:


-Rinse the cut potatoes and dry them thoroughly.

-Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).

-Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown and crisp. Drain on paper towels.

-Season the fries with seasoning salt or salt and dried herbs while they are still hot.


Fry the Shrimp:


-In a bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.


-Toss the shrimp in the flour mixture until they are well coated.


-Fry the shrimp in the hot oil for 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through.


-Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.


-Serve the crispy shrimp and fries together, perhaps with a side of tartar sauce or cocktail sauce for dipping. Sprinkle some chopped fresh parsley or dried herbs over the top for an extra touch of flavor and presentation. Enjoy your seafood feast!
